The Way of God

'In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.'

So begins the greatest story ever told - how God, in His infinite and everlasting mercy, created heaven within and earth outside man. He gave man dominion over the earth and over every living creature on it.

Man had authority in every situation he was confronted with. He knew what to do and exactly what to say to resolve the situation according to God's best interest. In the beginning man served God, and God made certain that man remained the dominant and ruling being in his universe, the world.

Man was created in the image of God. He could think, act and speak like God, but he was not God. Man possessed the ability to create his world as God had created His world, the universe. Man's world would be like God's world but on a much smaller scale, since man was only a replica of God.

As man built his world he would gradually discover God's world and the wondrous way in which God made it. Man would come to realize that all his power and wisdom and love was merely a reflection of God's almighty power, infinite wisdom and boundless love. Man would come to know and follow the Way of God.

When God spoke, His Word most definitely came to pass.
He said, 'Let there be light' - there was light!
He said, 'Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters' - it was so!
He said, 'Let the waters' .. it happened!

Whatever God said came to pass.
This is the Way of God.
Whatever God says must come to pass.

His Word issues forth as a fountain from a heart of unlimited love, guided by wisdom beyond human understanding, and brought into 'being' through eternal and unyielding faith. All power in the universe is behind and within the Word spoken by God. His Word is everlasting and absolutely perfect. What He says will undoubtedly come to pass!

Man was also able to speak his word and create his world in the Way of God, for he was made in the likeness of God. Guided by and trusting in God's infinite wisdom, man could speak out by faith the word God had placed in his heart.

This word would come to pass provided man believed it would in his heart, and if his faith endured perfectly until it came into 'being'. In this way God's purpose and will would be worked out in man's world according to God's wisdom and plan.

Every man would thus be an instument for the working of God's Will in the world. His words and actions spoken and done from the heart by faith would make him an intricate part of God's overall plan and Will for man in the earth.

Man would be creating his own world while at the same time fulfilling his purpose and destiny in his creator's Kingdom, the universe at large. God's Will and Kingdom would thus be done and built up through man as he said and did the truth in his heart at all times.

Only man's personal desires could hinder, stop or even reverse the flow of God's Will through man. Man was not created as the animals, without freedom of choice. Man has within himself a will to choose.

He can choose to do or say anything he decides to. He can choose not to do or say anything he wishes. What man says and does is up to him. He can choose to do and say God's Will in a situation, or his own. The decision is always his!

Man was given a mind to decide for himself what was right and what was wrong. He could choose for himself the appropriate word or action for the situation according to how his heart was leading him. His heart contained the certain knowledge of God's Will for each and every situation man would encounter during his life. It was always to be man's choice to do God's Will.

However, man (woman in fact!) made the wrong choice on purpose. They chose to disobey a clear instruction of God's not to eat or touch the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, placed in the garden of Eden with them from the beginning of God's creation.

The thought to disobey entered the 'being' of the woman. She decided to choose to disobey rather than resist the temptation. She chose to do her own will rather than God's Will. Her 'man' followed suit.

In the plan of God for man, God had allowed for man to sin, or disobey, His instructions. However, He had put His full faith and trust in man that he would not willingly sin. If he should ignorantly sin, he could ask God to forgive his sin and it would be forgiven. After all, man first must know the Way of God before he can be held accountable for his words and actions.

Secondly, man must choose to disobey the known Will of God before he will be punished by God. God does not expect foolish or misguided men to do His Will, nor will He punish them if they do not do it!

God is merciful everlastingly!

When a man chooses to sin, he voluntarily excludes himself from receiving the protection God affords to all obedient children of His world. That man, therefore, leaves himself open to the punishment and judgments afflicting all individuals in the world not faithful, obedient and sinless in the sight of God.

Before the present millenium, satan, God's adversary in the world, was permitted to afflict anyone not walking in the Way of God. However, ever since the resurrection, God has chosen to allow man to afflict himself should he depart from the Way.

Satan has been forever deposed, unable to afflict anyone believing in Jesus without God's sayso. In this way, God hopes to firmly establish and build-up His Kingdom in the world before He allows His long time adversary freedom one last time to try to usurp His authority over man.

God is merciful everlastingly!

The plans He has for each man's future are beyond comprehension if that man follows the Way, that is, follows his heart. The heart, or spirit, of man should lead his mind and body in all words and actions. He should wait patiently before saying or doing anything until he knows for certain in his heart exactly what he is to say or do.

In this way he will be responding to the situation exactly as God Wills him to, for he will be saying or doing what he believes in his heart is right. He will thus be acting by faith.

This is the Way of God!
