Some of us are little islands
Floating in the sea
Waiting for the ships of heaven
Filled with angels free
Can't escape the storms of nature
Blowing all around us
Have to trust the big Kahuna
Knowing He has found us

Some of us are massive mountains
Solid as forever
Casting down the beasts of darkness
Blood and bone and sinew
Mountain climbers take their chances
On foreboding slopes
Weather rages round the summit
In God alone one hopes

All of us are gentle people
Leaning on the Lord
Hoping His return is sooner
Than His stated Word
Patient and determined are we
To be found in Him
Happy, wise and faithful servants
God alive within

The voices .. voices .. all we hear are voices
Crying for attention, filled with apprehension
Waiting for the world to finally end ..

Singing .. bringing out the splendid dead
Never understanding what is dread or
What is hallelujah for the tortured ..

I was once a fool, thought I knew the truth
Never realized how aweful truth can be
Never satisfied when I was free ..

All the world around us crumbling from within
No longer able to grin and bear it
Just let the waves of terror roll over until the end ..

Solutions far too late to implement
Pollutions far too deep and wide fermented
And now we all must drink that evil wine ..

spirit to spirit
the forms and shapes
somehow seems we can't escape
but if in prison we reside
our fellow inmates
help pass the time
keeping hope and love alive
