What Jesus Really Said

On God's Gift
1. What eternal life is .. " And this is life eternal that they might know You - the only true God - and Jesus Christ whom You have sent " 2. How to receive the gift of God .. " Verily verily I say to you - he that believes on me has everlasting life " 3. What the believer should do .. " Verily verily I say to you - except you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood ( ie feast on the Word) you have no life in you - for my flesh is meat indeed and my blood is drink indeed - whoso eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life and I will raise him up at the last day " " If any man serve me let him follow me and where I am there shall also my servant be - if any man serve me him will my Father honour - he that loves his life shall lose it and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it to life eternal " " And every one that has forsaken houses or brethren or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands for my name's sake (and the gospel's) shall receive a hundredfold (now in this time .. with persecutions) and shall inherit everlasting life " (Ex.) And behold one came and said to him ' Good Master - what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life? ' ' Why call me good? There is none good but one that is God - but if you will enter into life keep the commandments ' He said to him ' Which? ' Jesus said ' You shall do no murder - you shall not commit false witness - honour your father and mother and you shall love your neighbour as yourself ' The young man said to him ' All these things have I kept from my youth up - what lack I yet? ' Then Jesus beholding him loved him and said to him ' One thing you lack - go your way - sell whatever you have and give to the poor and you shall have treasure in heaven - and come take up the cross and follow me ' And he was sad at that saying and went away grieved for he had great possessions. And Jesus looked round about and said to his disciples ' How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God ' And his disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answered again and said to them ' Children - how hard it is for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God - it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God ' And they were astinished out of measure saying among themselves ' Who then can be saved? ' And Jesus looking upon them said ' With men it is impossible but not with God - for with God all things are possible '
