On God's Word
1. Who God's Word is .. " In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God " " And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us - and we beheld his glory (the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth " " For the law was given by Moses but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ " 2. Why He came .. " I am come a light into the world that whosoever believes on me should not abide in darkness - and if any man hear my words and believe not I judge him not - for I came not to judge the world but to save the world " " .. To this end was I born and for this cause came I into the world that I should bear witness to the truth " " For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved - that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life " 3. For whom He came .. " For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost " " They that are whole have no need of the physician but they that are sick - I came not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance " " All that the Father gives me shall come to me and him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out " 4. Consequences of His coming .. " Think not that I am come to send peace on earth - I came not to send peace but a sword - for I am come to set a man at variance against his father and the daughter against her mother and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law - and a man's foe's shall be they of his own household " " If the world hate you (the believer) you know that it hated me before it hated you " " If I had not come and spoken to them (the world) they had not had sin - but now they have no cloak for their sin " " For judgment (justice) I am come into the world that they that see not might see and that they that see might be made blind " " Now is the judgment (deliverance) of this world - now is the prince of this world cast out " " He that believes on him is not condemned but he that believes not is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God " 5. His relationship with the Father .. " I and the Father are one " " For I have not spoken of myself but the Father that sent me He gave me a commandment - what I should say and what I should speak - and I know that His commandment is life everlasting - whatsoever I speak therefore even as the Father said to me so I speak " " Verily verily I say to you - the Son can do nothing of himself but what he sees the Father do - for what things soever he does these also do the Son likewise - for the Father loves the Son and shows him all things that himself does and will show him greater works than these that you may marvel " " For as the Father raises up the dead and quickens them even so the Son quickens whom he will - for as the Father has life in himself so has he given to the Son to have life in himself - and has given him authority to execute (righteous) judgment also because he is the Son of man - for the Father judges no man but has committed all (godly) judgment to the Son - that all men should honour the Son even as they honour the Father - he that honours not the Son honours not the Father that has sent him " 6. How God the Father reveals Himself to Man .. " All things are delivered to me of my Father and no man knows the Son but the Father - neither knows any man the Father save the Son and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him " " He that believes on me believes not on me but on Him that sent me - and he that sees me sees Him that sent me " 7. The Father's will for His Word .. " And this is the Father's will which has sent me - that of all which He has given me I should lose nothing but should raise it up again at the last day " " And this is the will of Him that sent me - that everyone who sees the Son and believes on him may have everlasting life and I will raise him up at the last day " 8. What God's Word is to the world .. " I am the light of the world - he that follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life " " I am the way, the truth and the life - no man comes to the Father but by me " " I am the resurrection and the life - he that believes in me though he were dead yet shall he live - and whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die " " I am the bread of life - he that comes to me shall never hunger and he that believes on me shall never thirst " " I am the good shepherd and know my sheep and am known of mine " " I am the true vine and my Father is the husbandman " " I am the door - by me if any man enter in he shall be saved and shall go in and out and find pasture " 9. What He died for .. And he took the cup and gave thanks and gave it to them saying " Drink you all of it for this is my blood of the new testament which is shed for many for the remission of sins " " I am the good shepherd - the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep " " Verily verily I say to you - except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die it abides alone - but if it die it brings forth much fruit " " And I if I be lifted up from the earth will draw all men to me " 10. Where he went after death .. " I came forth from the Father and am come into the world - again I leave the world and go to the Father " " In my Father's house are many mansions - if it were not so I would have told you - I go to prepare a place for you " " .. Hereafter you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power and coming in the clouds of heaven " 11. The promise of God's Word .. " .. I will come again and receive you to myself that where I am there you may be also " (to His children) 12. The Holy Spirit - who He is and what He does .. " But the Comforter - which is the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name - he shall teach you all things .. " " Even the Spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it sees him not neither knows him - but you know him for he dwells with you and shall be in you " " And when he is come he will reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment - of sin because they believe not on me - of righteousness because I go to my Father and you see me no more - of judgment because the prince of this world is judged " " .. when he - the Spirit of truth - is come he will guide you into all truth for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear that shall he speak - and he will show you things to come " 13. Who can ' hear ' God's Word .. How rejection of God's Word affects a man .. " He that rejects me and receives not my words has one that judges him - the word that I have spoken the same shall judge him in the last day " " I said therefore to you that you shall die in your sins - for if you believe not that I am He you shall die in your sins " " He that believes on the Son has everlasting life and he that believes not the Son shall not see life but the wrath of God abides on him "

On God's Word

1. Who God's Word is ..

" In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God "

2. Why He came ..

" I am come a light into the world that whosoever believes on me should not abide in darkness - and if any man hear my words and believe not I judge him not - for I came not to judge the world but to save the world "

" .. To this end was I born and for this cause came I into the world that I should bear witness to the truth "

" For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved - that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life "

3. For whom He came ..

" For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost "

" They that are whole have no need of the physician but they that are sick - I came not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance "

" All that the Father gives me shall come to me and him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out "

4. Consequences of His coming ..

" I and the Father are one "

" For I have not spoken of myself but the Father that sent me He gave me a commandment - what I should say and what I should speak - and I know that His commandment is life everlasting - whatsoever I speak therefore even as the Father said to me so I speak "

" Verily verily I say to you - the Son can do nothing of himself but what he sees the Father do - for what things soever he does these also do the Son likewise - for the Father loves the Son and shows him all things that himself does and will show him greater works than these that you may marvel "

" For as the Father raises up the dead and quickens them even so the Son quickens whom he will - for as the Father has life in himself so has he given to the Son to have life in himself - and has given him authority to execute (righteous) judgment also because he is the Son of man - for the Father judges no man but has committed all (godly) judgment to the Son - that all men should honour the Son even as they honour the Father - he that honours not the Son honours not the Father that has sent him "

6. How God the Father reveals Himself to Man ..

" All things are delivered to me of my Father and no man knows the Son but the Father - neither knows any man the Father save the Son and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him "

" He that believes on me believes not on me but on Him that sent me - and he that sees me sees Him that sent me "

7. The Father's will for His Word ..

" And this is the Father's will which has sent me - that of all which He has given me I should lose nothing but should raise it up again at the last day "

" And this is the will of Him that sent me - that everyone who sees the Son and believes on him may have everlasting life and I will raise him up at the last day "

8. What God's Word is to the world ..

" I am the light of the world - he that follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life "

" I am the way, the truth and the life - no man comes to the Father but by me "

" I am the resurrection and the life - he that believes in me though he were dead yet shall he live - and whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die "

" I am the bread of life - he that comes to me shall never hunger and he that believes on me shall never thirst "

" I am the good shepherd and know my sheep and am known of mine "

" I am the true vine and my Father is the husbandman "

" I am the door - by me if any man enter in he shall be saved and shall go in and out and find pasture "

9. What He died for ..

And he took the cup and gave thanks and gave it to them saying " Drink you all of it for this is my blood of the new testament which is shed for many for the remission of sins "

" I am the good shepherd - the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep "

" Verily verily I say to you - except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die it abides alone - but if it die it brings forth much fruit "

" And I if I be lifted up from the earth will draw all men to me "

10. Where he went after death ..

" I came forth from the Father and am come into the world - again I leave the world and go to the Father "

" In my Father's house are many mansions - if it were not so I would have told you - I go to prepare a place for you "

" .. Hereafter you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power and coming in the clouds of heaven "

11. The promise of God's Word ..

" .. I will come again and receive you to myself that where I am there you may be also " (to His children)

12. The Holy Spirit - who He is and what He does ..

" But the Comforter - which is the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name - he shall teach you all things .. "

" Even the Spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it sees him not neither knows him - but you know him for he dwells with you and shall be in you "

" And when he is come he will reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment - of sin because they believe not on me - of righteousness because I go to my Father and you see me no more - of judgment because the prince of this world is judged "

" .. when he - the Spirit of truth - is come he will guide you into all truth for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear that shall he speak - and he will show you things to come "

13. Who can ' hear ' God's Word ..

" He that is of God hears God's words - you therefore hear them not because you are not of God "

" My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me - but you believe not because you are not of my sheep as I said to you "

" Everyone that is of the truth hears my voice "

14. Why one should listen ..

" It is the spirit that quickens - the flesh profits nothing - the words that I speak to you they are spirit and they are life "

" Verily verily I say to you - he that hears my word and believes on Him that sent me has everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation but is passed from death into life "

15. How rejection of God's Word affects a man ..

" He that rejects me and receives not my words has one that judges him - the word that I have spoken the same shall judge him in the last day "
