Prologue
Almost 20 centuries ago Jesus Christ walked the land of Israel healing the sick and preaching the gospel of salvation to the Jews.

Most people believe that Christ came to bring peace and unity to the world. History shows however that for 2000 years there have been more wars and killings over His teaching than for any other reason. Hundreds of different Christian denominations flourish today - each practicing its own ' style ' of Christianity.

In His doctrine Jesus said ' Suppose you that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you No - but rather division ' (Luke 12:51)

What did Jesus really say about why He came?

Today churches and ministries are preaching the Word of God to the people as never before. The crowds which attend such crusades and revivals may witness faith healings, listen to testimonies of God's love and become acquainted with various interpretations of Christ's message. However thay may never actually ' hear ' God's words.

As Jesus said to His enemies the Pharisees ' He that is of God hears God's words - you therefore hear them not because you are not of God ' (John 8:47)

What did Jesus really say to those ' of God '?

Salvation is the message of Christ. Millions of Christians flock to their churches and gatherings each week believing that these ' worshipful ' actions will get them saved. Some are taught that their church ties have already ' saved ' them. Few people really know what Christ requires from those who would be ' saved ' from death as He was.

Jesus Himself said to the people ' Whosoever will come after me let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's the same shall save it ' (Mark 8:34,35)

These examples of Christ's words and the questions they raise are the reason for the writing of this little book.

Jesus said ' .. upon this rock I will build my church ' (Mat 16:18)

This book contains the nine basic teachings of Christ - the Rock upon which His church rests. Membership is open to anyone with the courage and will to believe and also follow His words.

This author hopes that each person will prove to himself the truth of What Jesus Really Said.
